Your Ten-Year Home Warranty Program

Coverage during the 1st year of the Minnesota limited warranty:
The warranty coverage for the period of one year, in your new home will be free from defects in materials and workmanship. To determine whether a defect exists, refer to the performance standards found in the Nordenstrom Custom Homes manual covering the State of Minnesota warranty.

Includes: Floor covering, doors, windows, plumbing, heating and cooling, etc.
Does not include: Cosmetics, scratches, tarnishes, normal wear and tear or misuse and items not on a foundation.

Coverage during 2nd year — Mechanical and Electrical:
The warranty for the period of two years, specified portions of the heating, ventilating, and air conditions (HVAC) systems, and the plumbing and electrical systems will be free from defects. Again, to determine whether a defect exists, refer to the performance standards found in the Nordenstrom Custom Homes Manual.

(Behind the Walls) Plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling.

Coverage during 3rd–10th years — Structural:
Only major structural defects and structure components are covered during this period. Again, to determine whether a defect exists, refer to the performance standard found in your Nordenstrom Custom Homes manual. Examples below:

Structural Components: Roof framing members (rafters and trusses), floor framing members (joists and trusses), bearing walls (all exterior walls), columns, lintels (other than lintels supporting veneers), girders, load-bearing beams, foundation systems and footing.
Examples of non-structural components: Non-load-bearing partitions and walls, drywall, floor covering, sub floor material, wall covering material, brick, stone, veneer, any type of exterior siding, roof shingles, sheathing, tar paper, heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, appliances, fixtures, doors, windows, trim cabinets, hardware, insulation, paint, stains, concrete floors in attached garages.
Appliances: Carry their own warranties and they vary.
